East Kennett

New gardens for a converted stable block in Wiltshire: fortuitously, the clinker paths of this former south-facing stable yard formed the substrate for the new garden, thus created an astonishingly benign growing environment. Even though in an area famously prone to frost, plants have flourished and self-seeded with abandon. An new haha on the other side of the building, also in sarsen stone, prevents the river from flooding.
