Cavendish Close

A large garden in St John’s Wood, London NW8: in conjunction with extensive works to the house including a new wing and a pool building.  Though close to Lord’s Cricket Ground, the brief called for a country garden.  To create structure within the garden and to screen views of the houses nearby, we planted a lot of  beech and yew hedging and pleached lime trees. This we softened with small flowering trees, roses (shrub and climbing), catmint, lavender and irises.
